Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to every booking made with Gangotri Expeditions. By paying an advance you
confirm that you have read them and that everyone in your group accepts them.
Booking and payment
- A booking is confirmed only once the advance of 25 percent has been received and we have sent you a written confirmation.
- The balance is due seven days before departure. We may treat a booking as cancelled if the balance is not paid by then.
- Prices are per person on twin sharing unless the itinerary says otherwise, and are quoted in Indian Rupees.
Prices and changes
Quoted prices hold for the dates confirmed in writing. Government-set charges such as
permits, helicopter fares and pony rates are outside our control and are billed at
actuals. If a government levy or fuel cost changes materially before departure, we
will tell you the revised figure and you may cancel without penalty if you do not
accept it.
Your responsibilities
- Carry valid photo identification for every traveller, including children.
- Declare any medical condition, pregnancy, or medication that could be affected by altitude, before booking.
- Follow the instructions of the trek leader or guide on the route. They have final authority on whether the group proceeds.
- Arrange your own travel insurance. We strongly recommend a policy that explicitly covers high-altitude trekking.
Our responsibilities
We will provide the services listed under inclusions on your itinerary, using
operators we have checked. Where a listed hotel or camp is unavailable, we will
substitute accommodation of a similar or better standard and tell you in advance.
Changes and cancellation by us
Mountain conditions decide a great deal. We may change a route, reorder days, or call
off a departure for weather, landslides, road closures, government order or any
situation that puts the group at risk. In those cases the
cancellation policy applies. Safety decisions taken
on the ground by the trek leader are final and are not grounds for a refund.
Limits of liability
We are not liable for delay, loss or injury caused by events outside our reasonable
control, including weather, natural disaster, road blockage, strike, accident, or the
act of a third-party operator such as an airline or helicopter service. Our liability
in any case is limited to the amount you have paid us for the trip.
Photography
We may photograph groups during a trip and use those images in our marketing. Tell
your guide, or email us, if you would prefer not to appear, and we will exclude you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive
jurisdiction of the courts of Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
