This policy explains what personal information Gangotri Expeditions collects when you use
this website or book a yatra with us, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to
do with it.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and run your trip:
- Contact details – name, phone number, email address, submitted through our enquiry form, WhatsApp, or over the phone.
- Trip details – preferred dates, group size, budget range and any requirements you tell us about.
- Identity documents – a photo ID, required by the Uttarakhand government for Char Dham registration and permits.
- Usage data – anonymous analytics about which pages are visited, collected through Google Analytics.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry with an itinerary and a price.
- To book hotels, vehicles, permits and helicopter slots in your name.
- To file the Char Dham registration and Yatra e-pass required by law.
- To contact you about your booking before and during the trip.
We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a marketing list unless you
ask us to.
Who we share it with
Only the parties needed to deliver your trip: hotels and camps, transport operators,
helicopter operators, and the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board for registration.
Each receives the minimum required, and nothing beyond that.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are kept for two years. Booking and payment records are kept for seven
years, as required for tax and accounting. Identity documents are deleted once the
trip is complete and the permits have expired.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for analytics only. There are no advertising or tracking
cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings, and the site will continue to
work normally.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct
anything wrong, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email
and we will respond within 30 days.
